During the liberation of İzmir, 2 soldiers serving in the cavalry unit stationed in the area were buried at the place where they were martyred. On 18 July 1967, the site with 2 graves was turned into a monument by the then Mayor, and in January 2004, the monument was restored by the Municipal Presidency and turned into a marble pedestal. It is located on the street opposite Kokluca Cemetery.
